Production Blog- Starting the Editing Process!

Image
What's up gang! Today started the editing of all of our clips together for the music video. As you know from the previous updates, we filmed the video just last week, so we are starting to get into the real work now. The editing can make or break how our video comes out and it needs to convey the story that we played out. From the storyboard, we showed how our picnic was showing a story of friendship, and action to do with the food that we all supplied in the picnic. We thought it only fair that if we were going to provide all that food, that if we couldn't eat it all, it might as well add to the dynamic of the video.  We are planning on editing through CapCut. We chose this platform due to our previous experience with it from our last project in the AICE Media Studies class. So far, we our just putting together the order of our timeline through our clips. Some of the clips we filmed out of order, so it was important to get them I order. Some were filmed out of order, mainly d

Production Blog- Part Two of my Filming!

Welcome back gang! I started discussing how I shot the music video, the opening sequences, and our individual shots in the previous blog. Now it's time to speak about the continuation of our shooting for the video. It was time for the group scenes after each person had their ideal solo shot. These scenes were captured on camera by Camila's younger sister. The group scenario where we were all awkwardly staring around without saying anything had to be the worst. We all had to stay concentrated, which made it the most difficult to shoot. To avoid having to make eye contact, we all tried to gaze in various directions. If we had, we would have laughed. However, the rest seemed easy following this particular scene. The following moments were rather simple to shoot because we could all be chatting and eating together. We simply carried on a normal discussion, occasionally making jokes to make each other laugh. You won't be able to hear the conversation after editing, but you can

Production Blog- Filming Start Off

Welcome back gang!   I'll  be  d iscussing  the music video filming progress in this  blog. Finally,  my group convened on Tuesday, October 24th,  to  begin  recording. I  had  to  go  get the cake for the music video and get picked up by one of my friends first.  We  headed  to  Hugh  Taylor  Birch  State  Park,  where  we  were  going  to  film. In  order  to  capture  the  moments  involving  the  four  of  us, Camila's   younger  sister  accompanied  us. We  started  by  assembling  the  picnic  using  the  items  we  had  each  brought. Aryanna  arrived  with  plates,  utensils,  and  chips. Lyne  brought  a  few  glasses  and  the  blanket. Camila provided the cake, decorations and snacks.  I brought  refreshments,  beverages,  and  decorations. Camila  and  I  completed our cake decorating with  the title of the song above it. When it came time to record the scene, the name was hardly visible because the ice had melted because of the weather. In order for the audi

What’s up gang? I will be providing you guys with updates regarding the progress of my music video via my blog. Although  we  haven't  started  filming,  the  behind-the-scenes  work  is  virtually  finished. Getting costumes and makeup  for  the day we shoot was one of my  responsibilities  in  the  group. We are having a fall picnic, so I need to makeup I supply to group with he proper makeup and costume advice. I have been brainstorming and I believe I want the group to have a type of orange and white color scheme for clothes. This idea has not been discussed though, so I still need to get approval from my other group members. This could mean it could end up as just an idea, but I want these colors, because of the type of "fall" theme. If I must buy a few pieces of clothes for my group, than I will have to. The makeup look will be casual. I am not planning on anyone having on costume makeup, anything simple for a day to day look will make the video look be fine. Ou

Production Blog- Just a start!

Welcome back guys!  I'll be discussing the early stages of my group's music video in this blog. I decided to work in a group of 4 people for this project, including myself. We'll all make valuable contributions to the group, and I think the project will culminate in a fantastic music video. We all enjoy the music of Steve Lacy, thus we picked his song "Infrunami." Because the song and the artist are both R&B, the music video will be classified as belonging to that genre. We had our first technical difficulty regarding the shooting of our music video this past week. We were meant to shoot October 14-15, however, Camila had an emergent flight out of the state, so we had to reschedule. It has all been re-evaluated though, and we have turned to our backup dates, which were the 28th and 29th of October. So far, that has been our only minor issue, however we may run into issues with our filming dates further in the future. I will make sure to update you guys if any

My Group for the Music Video

Image
What's up everyone? Welcome back to my blog. For today I'm discussing the group of people that are working on the music video with me. I have chosen these people, as they all align with a specific part of the video that they can specialize in. To start off, I am working with Aryanna M, Camila M.R, and Lyne T. To start off, I am contributing to the creative and artistic portion of the video. I will primarily be doing most of the storyboard, with help of course. I will also be helping a bit with the editing, although I will be focusing on the filters and colors of the video. I will also be helping for the background of the video, with providing props and costumes. Aryanna will be helping with the camera work for the most part. She has previous experience with camera work from working in Theatre. She also knows how to compose angles together and how to act in front of a camera. Camila will be helping us with the music and sound part of our video. She has worked with music before

Introduction to the Music Video

Image
What’s up? My name is Katherine V, and I’m going to be creating a music video with my friends and I! I feel that I am very artistically inclined and I’m excited for it. I have been very into painting ever since I was little. Art class in school was always, and is still my favorite, as it gives me a way to express myself through creativity. I have been to only a couple of art shows, but I’m hoping there are more opportunities in my future. I’m hoping my passion for design can help me into college, as I’m interested in either an Advertising, or Marketing major. It would mean the world to me if I was able to incorporate my love of creation and art into my job, as I have always been scared of the thought of passionless occupation. Another thing that interests me is creative writing and reading. I’m not sure I would be interested in a job to do with writing, such as an author or editor, however I find I’m quite good at writing off the bat. I find that my writing ability has made it very ea
