Production Blog- Starting the Editing Process!

 What's up gang!

Today started the editing of all of our clips together for the music video. As you know from the previous updates, we filmed the video just last week, so we are starting to get into the real work now. The editing can make or break how our video comes out and it needs to convey the story that we played out. From the storyboard, we showed how our picnic was showing a story of friendship, and action to do with the food that we all supplied in the picnic. We thought it only fair that if we were going to provide all that food, that if we couldn't eat it all, it might as well add to the dynamic of the video.

We are planning on editing through CapCut. We chose this platform due to our previous experience with it from our last project in the AICE Media Studies class. So far, we our just putting together the order of our timeline through our clips. Some of the clips we filmed out of order, so it was important to get them I order. Some were filmed out of order, mainly due to not being able to take some of the shots seriously in the beginning. We shot all of our group shots at the end, right before the cake scenes, so we wouldn't be covered in food for those shots.

I then went through all of the shots, as they were all filmed on my phone. They were filmed on my phone, because I had the best camera quality out of all of us. Some of my groups cameras were also broken, which was unfortunate, which is why we ended up filming on my phone. We took many shots, because as I said before, we couldn't get many of the shots on the first time. Someone was either laughing, the wind was not cooperating, or something out of our control would happen. Because, we were in a public setting, people would often walk through our shots, and there was nothing we could do but restart the shot. This was a big factor in why it took us so long to film. It took close to three hours, which was not our initial plan. From there on I sent the right shots and some shots that I had to cut to make our time limit, to Lyne. Lyne has the most editing experience and will primarily, with the rest of the groups help of course, be using Caput to edit the most. Camila and Aryanna will also be helping, with the lighting and overlays in the music video. For now, that is where we are. See you later gang!
