Production Blog- Just a start!
Welcome back guys!
I'll be discussing the early stages of my group's music video in this blog. I decided to work in a group of 4 people for this project, including myself. We'll all make valuable contributions to the group, and I think the project will culminate in a fantastic music video. We all enjoy the music of Steve Lacy, thus we picked his song "Infrunami." Because the song and the artist are both R&B, the music video will be classified as belonging to that genre. We had our first technical difficulty regarding the shooting of our music video this past week. We were meant to shoot October 14-15, however, Camila had an emergent flight out of the state, so we had to reschedule. It has all been re-evaluated though, and we have turned to our backup dates, which were the 28th and 29th of October. So far, that has been our only minor issue, however we may run into issues with our filming dates further in the future. I will make sure to update you guys if any more plans are changed though!
We were talking as a group about the tools and programs we could use to edit the video. We used various editing programs to create a personal commercial for our most recent project in AICE Media Studies. But for this job, we all decided to use CapCut, as it is straightforward and effective. Together, we are all contributing our unique styles to the video. Since I am in charge of the Storyboard, and artistic side of the video- costumes, makeup, props, I will make sure to supply all the needed components to make the video come together. I already have many of the props we plan to use, and we have a chosen park- Hugh Taylor Birch State Park, which was also previously changed, from Holiday Park. I have already supplied our group with the Storyboard needed for the direction of the music video as well.
Although we haven't had a chance to film anything, we are making sure we do are current on everything. To make the music video fantastic, we worked hard behind the scenes. Just to give you a sense of the style, I've included a picture of the song's cover down below. We have only talked about this so far, but I am confident that all of our efforts will be worthwhile in the end. I appreciate your patience guys, and thank you in sticking by us!
