Production Blog - Starting

Welcome back! I have officially started my All About my Commercial. I have also started to go through what apps to use and organize all of the media and music I will use, for it as well. I found it easy to narrow down which editing app to use for the project. Many creative minds do their best editing work on Capcut, so it seemed like the clear choice. To start off, I didn't even know how to use Capcut, so I was in need to look up a video on how to use it. I was relieved to find that it was quite simple to use, and then I continued on with my project. I found that playing around on the app, and allowing to use my creative freedom in the video, made Capcut the obvious choice over any other apps. From the amount of tools I had access to, to the quality the video it allowed me to receive, I knew I was giving myself the best set up with Capcut. When I started, I wanted to make sure I had a clear set up of the Commercial. What I meant by that, was how the final project was going to look like. To start with a short introduction, but make sure it is not to sudden and feels blended properly into the video. Whether I was going to split up my photos and videos by the media type, or by topic of the media. Then finally, how I would implement my music to wrap up mood for the commercial.

When I was trying to come up with my introduction, I had to brainstorm what kind of style to convey my commercial in. If I wanted bright and colorful photos, one full of cool colors, or an all black and white look, I hadn't thought about. I finally decided on not an all out use of color, but I wanted my commercial to be bright, and bring over a light-hearted tone, going along with the carefree music. The main colors I decided to use in the commercial were the different varieties of blue, yellow, and green, which just happen to be my favorite colors. Using these main colors as either backdrops, or accents around the video was something I started to do in my introduction and the start of the implementation of pictures. I also needed to figure out how I was going to use the two songs I had picked out, and not make the cut between the two feel "artificial". Although the work to blend these songs together to be a more seamless transition, I have found that both songs use similar beats. When analyzing the beats, I found that if I can make the blend happen between the similar beats at the certain parts of the song, it would work out in my favor. After my brief "introduction" part of the commercial, I decided to start with the part of my life I associate with my sport, swimming. That is where I currently left off, including swimming pictures and videos to fill my project. This is ongoing and I am excited to share the final project with everyone!
